Amsterdam-based smart energy technology specialist Quby has announced that it has partnered with Spanish energy provider Viesgo to more than double the number of owners of Toon smart thermostats in Europe.
The collaboration will bring Toon to over 720,000 homes in Spain from Q3 2017, making it the third – and largest to date – market in Europe to offer the product, following on from successful partnerships in Belgium and the Netherlands.
With the partnership Viesgo, current energy supplier to 2.5% of homes in Spain, hopes to increase its customer engagement by offering a “smart” solution.
The Toon thermostat can provide detailed insights into energy consumption, allowing users to save money when necessary by easily switching appliances or changing settings.
Hans Valk, CEO of Quby commented, “We believe Viesgo’s large customer base, many of whom are already familiar with smart and connected devices, will find incorporating Toon into their everyday energy planning beneficial.”
Quby says it has ambitions to serve five major European markets with its thermostat technology by the close of 2017.
