Quby, the Dutch developer of smart home solutions and maker of the smart thermostat 'Toon', has announced a partnership with the Belgian energy provider Engie Electrabel.
Engie Electrabel, which is part of the Engie group and has more than 20 million customers in Europe, will offer ‘boxx’, a new smart thermostat by Quby, to their customers starting today.
Following the success of Toon in the Netherlands, where more than 200,000 households use the smart thermostat, Quby is expanding internationally through partnership with a local energy company that enables their customers to gain insight into and control over their energy consumption.
Engie Electrabel and Quby partnered up to develop the new smart thermostat called ‘boxx’ for the Belgium market. boxx was previewed for the first time at the Batibouw, a large home improvement event in Brussels. The ‘boxx’ smart thermostat will be widely available for Belgium customers, starting early April, through Electrabel’s retail channels.
Quby’s smart thermostat allows energy providers to offer innovative services and improve its relationship with customers. For example, in the Netherlands it is already possible to connect solar panels to the smart thermostat and measure the output. Quby has more smart home features and innovations lined up in the future.
