A partnership between “two industry giants†has been born according to SnapAV itself, as it announces that it has partnered with Lutron to “take the mystery out of lighting†in the US.
North Carolina-based manufacturer and distributor SnapAV has put pen to paper on multi-year agreement that makes SnapAV the exclusive reseller of the Lutron RA2 Select Main Repeater – which will be sold with SnapAV's OvrC remote management platform built in. It will also stock the rest of the line, though not on an exclusive basis.
SnapAV naturally says they believe the deal will be huge for installers incorporating more lighting management into projects. Its backing this up by not selling any other lighting management systems to dealers, whereas Lutron will carry on selling its original RA2 Select Main Repeaters through other distributors. The SnapAV say the OvrC-enabled main repeater will be sold for the same price as non-OvrC-enabled version.
For those unfamiliar Lutron RA2 Select, the lighting system incorporates a main repeater, Pico remotes, switches, dimmers and occupancy sensors. From the platform users have access to anything from one to 100 lighting and shading devices.
For installers, its business as usual – the Lutron hub will look like a typical other OvrC-enabled subsystem and add lighting and manage it from any location as if it were a SnapAV product. They will also have the ability to configure and adjust individual Lutron devices (switches, dimmers, exhaust fans, etc.) that are connected to the main repeater.
The agreement will see SnapAV provide support and training for the OvrC-enabled RA2 Select product to installers.
