Steinway Lyngdorf introduces new iOS and Android apps to control amplifiers and processors

Steinway Lyngdorf has released new iOS and Android apps to control its amplifiers and processors from a smartphone or tablet.

The My Lyngdorf and My Steinway Lyngdorf apps allow users to access all settings, set up a new device, customise the user interface, calibrate the sound system and stream music.

With an icon-based screen alongside touch, tap and slide functions, the apps aim to make operating a Lyngdorf or Steinway & Sons system much easier.

Remote control

Although some functions are accessible on the front display of Lyngdorf amplifiers and processors, the app manages all functions in a convenient and visual way.

The graphical, icon-based design is an interactive, easy-to-understand interface with accessibility enhancements such as larger text, dark / light mode and Apple VoiceOver.

Customisation

Apart from setting up and controlling a Steinway Lyngdorf amplifier or processor, the new apps also allows for user customisation.

Functions include deleting unused inputs, renaming favourite inputs, selecting RoomPerfect modes, changing screen brightness and display modes, and modifying or creating custom Voicings.

The app home screen layout on the smartphone or tablet can also be customised by the user: for example, adding or removing app features and icons, and prioritising often used functions.

Intelligent web radio

The most used function of a streaming amplifier is interaction with music, streaming services and web radio.

The new apps provide common information like the song, artist and artwork, but also showcase details about the sound quality such as bit depth and sample rate.

Additionally, the web radio player uses AI to easily find and filter radio stations by region, genre, tags and preferences.

As a result, users can find most suitable music services, playlists, stations or podcasts for a more satisfying everyday listening experience.
