Bluesound adds to multi-room audio line with 7 products

Bluesound has unveiled a seven-strong line-up of multi-room audio products as part of its launch of ‘Generation 2i.’

The Canada-based manufacturer’s next generation of multi-room offerings sees three of its speakers – the Pulse 2i, Pulse Mini 2i and Pulse Flex 2i – equipped with new features, in addition to the Node 2i streamer, Powernode 2i streamer/amp, Vault 2i network streamer and CD ripper, and the Pulse Soundbar 2i.

Upgrades include the addition of voice control (just Alexa for now), dual-band Wi-Fi and support for Apple AirPlay 2 support and Bluetooth (excluding the Pulse Flex 2i, the line’s smallest speaker).

Beneath the chassis of the Pulse 2i, a complete technology revamp sees the addition of 25mm tweeters (replacing two 7cm drivers) and an updated 13cm woofer bringing with it stereo paring and double bass output, in addition to a complete processor revamp.

The company’s other speakers additionally incorporate updated amps and the new DSP engine (with driver configurations remaining the same).

Pulse Soundbar 2i can be partnered with the Pulse Sub and a pair of Pulse Flex 2is for greater surround sound options.

Furtermore, streamers now incorporate trickle-down circuit design from the NAD Masters M50.2 BluOS network streamer, as well as a smaller Wi-Fi chipset and new approach to layout and isolation.

Bluesound’s accompanying control app has been overhauled with version 3.0 version too.

All of Bluesound’s range are priced as its predecessors were (excluding the Pulse 2i, which has been upped).
