CEDIA 2024: Snap One debuts SunBrite Solis outdoor TV and Control4 X4 interface

Snap One unveiled its SunBrite Solis smart outdoor TV and introduced a completely new user interface, Control4 X4, as part of its 2024 CEDIA Expo showing.

The company, now part of ADI, was showcasing the new outdoor TV that features 1,500 nits of brightness. SunBrite Solis offers advanced glare reduction, voice-enabled control, built-in speakers, a redesigned media bay for easier access and connectivity, as well as seamless integration with OvrC, Snap One’s remote management platform.

The IP55-rated SunBrite Solis is the latest addition to the SunBrite line of outdoor TVs, offering 4K resolution and HDR10+ support. SunBrite Solis is suited to both commercial and residential applications.

New mounting points and a 120-volt AC outlet now included inside the display’s media bay provide multiple attachment points and power delivery. A removable door has also been added to simplify service and maintenance on site, while integration of Snap One’s OvrC platform facilitates remote management of SunBrite Solis, as well other displays in the SunBrite line, for configuration, system reboots, and other diagnostics. SunBrite Solis is available in four sizes: 49-, 55-, 65-, and 75-in.

Control4 X4 – a completely new control interface

Also showing at CEDIA on the Snap One stand was the Control4 X4, a control interface that enables customer-driven, post-installation tweaks with features called Routines and Widgets. For example, users can easily create, modify, and schedule Routines directly from the Control4 App.

Before handing off the system, professional installers can use Routines to quickly set up basic automations for their customers who can then easily make changes moving forward. Users can also set favourites and shortcuts to provide quick access to frequently used controls and scenes.

With Control4 X4, professional installers can offer their legacy and new customers a subscription to Control4 Connect for updates to the Control4 X4 interface.

Control4 X4 includes enhanced Apple HomeKit functionality, offering deeper integration with the Apple ecosystem and enabling unified management of the Control4 system across Apple products such as CarPlay, iPhone Control Center, and Mac Desktop. Users can also launch scenes via Siri and adjust the settings of individual lighting dimmers and other devices.

Control4 X4 features a modern and minimalist and the adoption of new personalisation tools, along with a completely new navigation design language, ensures new devices can be added into the control system. An entire subsystem or group of products, such as surveillance cameras, can be monitored and controlled from a single page, and users can switch between Whole System Control, Rooms, Routines, Sessions, and Settings.

Control4 X4 replaces Control4 OS 3.4.2 and the OS3 App and will be available initially as early-access to partners in the United States starting early next year, followed by an international rollout.
