Crestron expands custom shading portfolio with new battery-powered option

Crestron Electronics has added the new Crestron Battery-Powered Shades to its custom shade portfolio, meaning it now offers wired, wireless and battery-powered shading solutions which integrate with the Crestron Home platform.

The expansion to the portfolio now gives integrators more options to integrate intelligent shading solutions into almost any space within the home, regardless of whether it is a new build or a retrofit.

Offering a holistic hardware and software ecosystem, Crestron’s portfolio of motorised shading allows homeowners to configure, schedule or execute a shading scene that synchronises shading throughout the house with other Crestron Home solutions, the Horizon Thermostat, as well as third-party extensions.

As part of its native integration with Crestron Home, the homeowner will be notified of the battery life, so they know when to replace the battery. Though discreetly tucked in the fascia, the uniquely Crestron-designed battery cartridge swings downward to make such replacement easy. The battery can be replaced like most consumer devices and the shades can be snapped back into place with no disassembly required.

The Battery-Powered Shades are available with both Architectural and Décor brackets.

Along with the addition of the Battery-Powered Shade, Crestron has also added 240 new designer-led fabric choices to its now 400-strong fabrics to ensure customers, dealers and designers never have to compromise on style.

With a three-year battery life and limited lifetime warranty on the motors, Crestron’s new Battery-Powered Shades will start shipping in January, alongside the new International Gateway (CENI-GW1).

A webinar will be held on 8 December 2021 to give more details on the new product offering and how dealers can prepare to add it to their portfolio. Registration is now open.
