French audio company, Focal has unveiled the 1000 Series, its new flagship range of in-wall and in-ceiling speakers and subwoofers which offer high levels of performance and flexible install options.
Three years in development, the 1000 Series offers a discreet alternative to traditional hi-fi and home cinema set ups without losing any performance. In fact, the 1000 Series is said to raise integrated speakers to new performance levels through the use of flagship speaker technologies such as Beryllium tweeters and ‘W’ cones, as featured on the Focal Utopia home speaker range.
The wall speaker’s flexible design allows the drivers to be adjusted to angle in any direction for optimum listening positions. The ceiling speakers feature Focal’s patented ‘Easy Quick Install’ system for a simple, tool-free integration.
Using just one channel of amplification, the wall speakers can be paired with one, two, four or six subwoofers depending on the size of the room and desired SPL levels. Speakon cables are provided for a simple connection.
Magnetic grilles are included and are also paintable make them as discreet as possible and fit in with the aesthetics of the room.
At just 10cm deep, the in-wall speakers still offer exceptional performance and are suitable for the majority of locations. Optional on-wall frames will soon be available for greater flexibility. The in-ceiling speakers have the same form factors as the Focal 300 Series, offering an easier upgrade option.
1000 IWLCR Utopia
The first product in the new range is the 1000 IWLCR Utopia in-wall speaker, using Utopia technology. Featuring Focal’s flagship Beryllium tweeter, four 6.5-in W bass drivers and two three-in midrange ‘M’ profile W drivers, the speaker can be paired with up to six 1000 IWSUB Utopia subwoofers for a top home cinema experience. Each driver can be adjusted by +/-15° to gain the optimum listening position.
The suggested pricing for the 1000 IWLCR Utopia in-wall speaker is €6,999 / £6,999 / $7,499.
1000 IWSUB Utopia
An in-wall closed subwoofer using Utopia technology, the 1000 IWSUB Utopia is a two-part design, each featuring three 6.5-in W bass drivers, and is capable of reproducing deep, powerful and controlled bass.
Pricing for the subwoofer is suggested at €2,599 / £2,599 /$2,799.
1000 IWLCR6
Similar to the 1000 IWLCR Utopia but without the Utopia technology, the 1000 IWLCR6 is a premium three-way in-wall speaker option for home cinemas. It can be used as left, right, centre or surround channels. The speaker can also be rotated 90° and used as a dedicated centre-channel speaker.
To target the ideal listening position, the mids/tweeter section can be tilted by +/-15°.
Suggested pricing is €2,499 / £2,499 / $2,699.
1000 IW6
Ideally suited for smaller rooms, the 1000 IW6 is a premium two-way in-wall speaker to be used for front or surround effects in small home cinemas.
The 1000 IW6 has suggested pricing of €1,699 / £1,699 / $1,799.
1000 ICW6
The 1000 ICW6 premium in-ceiling speaker features Focal’s patented ‘Easy Quick Install’ technology for tool-free installation. It is also the same form factor as the Focal 300 Series, making upgrade installs even simpler.
Suggested pricing for the 1000 ICW6 is €999 / £999 / $1,099.
1000 ICA6
This in-ceiling speaker has a 35° angle for maximum sound positioning and adjustment. It also features the ‘Easy Quick Install’ technology for tool-free installation.

1000 ICLCR5
The 1000 ICLCR5 is a premium three-way angled in-ceiling speaker (56° for tweeter and midrange). It is ideal for home cinema installation with no back wall. The mids/tweeter section is adjustable to target the listening position +/-30°.
‘Easy Quick Install’ technology is also included for tool-free installation. Featuring the same form factor as the Focal 300 Series, upgrades are much simpler.
