Q Acoustics has completed its affordable 3000c range with the launch of a compact floorstanding speaker, aimed at listeners looking to step up from bookshelf models without sacrificing living space.
Developed to meet demand for a more compact and agile floorstanding speaker, the new 3040c incorporates the same C3 (Continuous Curved Cone) driver design found across the rest of the series.
The C3 driver combines the bass response of a traditional straight cone with the midrange clarity and high-frequency control of a flared cone.
Q Acoustics says, as a result, the twin 4.75-inch C3 mid/bass drivers deliver controlled bass performance and smoother integration with the high-frequency driver.
The 3040c tweeter, inspired by the brand’s flagship Concept series, features a floating, mechanically isolated design that seals it from the baffle.
This reduces the effects of internal pressure and mid/bass vibrations that can colour high frequencies, and is combined with a vented inner chamber to achieve low distortion.
Designed to complement rather than compete with interior style, the speaker is also engineered to maintain clarity across a range of listening levels.
P2P (Point to Point) bracing is fitted to the internal areas of the cabinet prone to low-end frequency vibrations.
This reinforcement is said to deliver a more focused stereo image and a wider soundstage.
Additionally, HPE (Helmholtz Pressure Equaliser) tubes are fitted inside the cabinet to reduce internal pressure buildup and improve frequency response.
