Toshiba has announced a new line of flagship OLED 4K HDR Smart TVs for home entertainment and gaming throughout Europe.
The XL9C OLED TVs come in 55” and 65” models and offer cinematic picture quality, high-performance motion-handling, and ultra-responsive 4K gaming in Game mode.
Displaying the many benefits of OLED panel technology, the self-emissive pixels and extra wide colour gamut means that the TVs deliver colour vibrancy as well as deep blacks and a striking near-infinite contrast ratio that adds definition to the on-screen picture.
Featuring ultra-fast refresh rates of 100Hz/120Hz, viewers can enjoy high-speed action scenes, sports and gaming with smoother and more natural looking images.
When Game mode is enabled, the TVs offer a 100FPS/120FPS gaming experience powered by a frame rate converter, supporting faster response times and keeping the screen stutter-free, even for lower frame rate games. Thanks to the TV’s 4K resolution, the fastest racing and shooting action looks and feels more immersive, with additional details, depth and colour vibrancy.
Gaming is also enhanced as Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), as specified in HDMI 2.1, automatically switches to the lowest latency setting as soon as a signal is detected from a games console.
Away from just gaming, the TV can provide an immersive performance no matter what the content is thanks to DTS Virtual:X and Dolby Atmos.
Powered by DTS Virtual:X, the integrated Onkyo fine-tuned speakers deliver immersive sound all around the viewer straight from the TV. Adding to this, the integration of Dolby Atmos offers a multidimensional sound experience that can go beyond traditional left and right channels.
With the Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC), viewers have the ability to connect the TVs to any external sound system and then control it using the TV remote.
Complementing the sound performance, the TVs feature Toshiba TV’s TRU Picture Engine and its three image technologies – TRU Resolution, TRU Micro Dimming and TRU Flow – delivers an impressive picture performance for any non-4K SDR content. While TRU Resolution upscales non-4K content, TRU Micro Dimming enhances the dynamic contrast performance.
TRU Flow also works to optimise the TV’s motion handling, using Motion Estimation/Motion Compensation (ME/MC) technology.
The Linux-based Toshiba TV Smart system connects viewers with multiple streaming on demand and catch-up TV apps, such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, Twitch, Red Bull TV and Amazon Music.
The new flagship TV series gives users the option of hands-free voice control using Google Assistant. As a Works with Alexa series, the XL9C TV can also be connected to an Amazon Alexa-enabled speaker for similar voice control support.
The new flagship XL9C TV series is available in Europe, except for in Germany and the UK.
