Ascendo Immersive Audio has gone bigger on its new infrasonic subwoofer models, which remain the largest in the world.
Replacing its 50-inch and 80-inch designs, the German manufacturer introduces The64 Sub Pro Passive Infrasonic Sealed 64-inch model and The100 Sub Pro Passive Infrasonic Sealed 100-inch models.
The woofers pioneer ultra-low-frequency reproduction, their improved features including a suspension system with optimised quad spiders.
Geoffrey Heinzel, co-managing partner of Ascendo, said: “We are proud to be the leader in infrasonic bass.
“Our continuous innovation in this category translates to an extremely high-performance, emotionally connected experience that enriches state-of-the-art home theaters and music reproduction systems with bass you can feel.
“These two new subwoofers are the largest in the world for home cinema, and are incredibly powerful, efficient and fast.”
The quad spiders have been repositioned and optimised in the new models to deliver more excursion across the linear and nonlinear range.
Advanced spider materials include carefully selected spider fabrics and resins to provide higher compliance and noise-free operation at extreme excursions.
Additionally, noise performance has been enhanced at ultra-low frequencies beyond previous woofer designs.
A shallower compliance curve delivers improved linear motion and control, while lowered driver resonance combines with optimised enclosure dimensions for deeper bass extension.
On the subwoofers, Ascendo improves its multi-density internal damping materials to lower the system’s resonance frequency and achieve perfect impulse response with ultra-low group delay.
The enclosure depth has also been increased to 100cm to extend the frequency response into the infrasonic region.
