AVA announces certified Sonos integration on Cinema Remote, on show at CEDIA Expo 2025

AVA has announced its remotes now work natively with Sonos systems, earning a certification recognised by professional installers.

The Swiss-American manufacturer offers an integrated OS bringing together control of Sonos players on the local network with an intuitive user interface.

Available from today, the new integration will be demonstrated live at CEDIA Expo in Denver this week on booth #3729.

Ted Haeger, chief customer officer at AVA, said: “AVA is thrilled to bring Sonos into our pro-only control system, AVA OS.

“Installers can now give clients a premium remote that feels as if it were designed exclusively to work with Sonos.

“Setup is quick and the owner gets an experience that works so naturally it feels like part of the system.”

With high-resolution cover art, easy grouping of speakers and fast control from AVA Cinema Remote’s patented Dynamic Keypad, AVA OS knows what room a user is in to start playing music.

With this system, setup is simple; AVA OS automatically discovers Sonos players, meaning the installer assigns each player to a room.

For extra personalisation, an icon representing a client’s favourites can be added for a room on the home page.

When a device like the Sonos Port needs an external amplifier, the installer can automate turning on or off as needed by automating it with AVA OS.

As AVA OS integrates directly with Sonos devices on the local network, commands such as volume adjustments, mute, pause or track skips happen instantly.

Greg Biddlecome, owner of Vision Media based in Charlotte, North Carolina (USA), added: “We have been eagerly waiting AVA’s Sonos integration.

“We install Sonos systems week in, week out, and clients always ask for ways to control them easily.

“This sets up fast, feels completely natural to use, and gives my clients the kind of luxury remote they actually enjoy showing off.”

Designed to feel like a native experience on Sonos, the AVA Cinema Remote’s Dynamic Keypad provides tactile button controls for volume, play/pause and track navigation.

Its look and feel provides a streamlined, touchscreen-only option for less frequently used rooms or spaces without TVs.
