AWOL Vision has launched a new 150-inch screen to expand the boundaries of ultra-short-throw projection.
The company introduces the Fresnel PET Daylight ALR Screen for applications where ambient light has traditionally limited large-format projection.
“The message from both consumers and professionals is clear – there’s a huge demand for large-scale projection solutions that feel cinematic, but without needing a fully blacked-out room,” said Andy Zhao, founder and CEO of AWOL Vision.
By scaling its Fresnel optical architecture to this size, the technology company aims to maintain brightness, contrast and image uniformity at extreme sizes – even with lights on.
Central to the screen is a precision-engineered Fresnel layer combined with advanced light-management coatings.
This structure reflects light from the projector while rejecting overhead and side ambient light, improving perceived contrast, shadow detail and midtone clarity.
The optical-grade PET substrate provides dimensional stability, making the screen suitable for demanding residential and commercial installations.
While home cinema remains a key focus, the modular design supports wall or frame mounting, opening up applications in boardrooms, education, exhibitions and showroom environments.
The screen has been developed alongside AWOL Vision’s UST projector lineup, including the new Aetherion Max, and made its European debut at ISE 2026.
Global shipping is scheduled for March 2026.
