BenQ’s new portable projector invites you to lay back and watch movies on the ceiling

BenQ has introduced the GV50 portable smart laser projector, built with ultra-flexible angles and bedside audio-visual optimisation to provide comfortable viewing experience while laying down.

It offers unique flexibility to stream high-quality content in personalised space to allow for laid-back movie nights in bed, replacing the need for TVs.

BenQ’s new flagship ceiling projector retains the 135-degree vertical projection flexibility of the popular GV ceiling projector series and adds comprehensive upgrades in brightness, light source, and onboard system capabilities. The GV50 also features a more flexible mechanical design and automatic screen correction, designed specifically for bedside projection.

The GV50 is unique thanks to its purpose-driven features that enable the most comfortable viewing experience in small bedrooms without hassle or sacrificing space. It features 135-degree vertical and 360-degree horizontal projection angle range and two-stage tilt ceiling projection which works in conjunction with digital zoom, 360-degree image rotation, and digital H/V lens shift to ensure luxury viewing from any position.

Ceiling Cinema Sound Mode directs rich 18-watt 2.1-channel audio downward to match bed height.

Designed to give 120-in full HD 1080p visuals from a bedside nightstand, the projector also features Night Shift Mode to reduce eye strain and a soothing sleep timer.

BenQ’s CinematicColor and CinematicSound technologies are included with Rec. 709 colour accuracy, HDR / HLG support and 500 ANSI lumens of brightness from its laser light source.

The latest Google TV and licenced Netflix are preloaded onto the GV50, as well as a respectable 22.4ms input lag for casual gaming for all-in-one entertainment. The projector is also equipped with USB-C data transmission, DisplayPort output, and power delivery for mobile devices and Nintendo Switch, in addition to 150 minutes of video playtime or 280 minutes of Bluetooth music playback from its integrated battery.
