Marantz introduces AV 30 and AMP 30 amplifiers for home cinema

Marantz has released two new amplifiers, said to offer “outstanding performance, elegant design and supreme versatility.”

The AV 30 11.4-channel AV preamplifier and AMP 30 power amplifier are tuned by the Marantz Sound Master for consistent performance across sources and listening modes.

Designed and manufactured at the company’s Shirakawa Audio Works in Japan, the new components follow the engineering approach established by the AV 10/AMP 10 and AV 20/AMP 20.

Lyle Smith, president of Sound United at HARMAN, said: “With their outstanding performance, elegant design and supreme versatility, the two models are exceptional additions to Marantz’s world-class home theatre portfolio.”

The AV 30 features the latest dual-core Analogue Devices SHARC DSP platform with 32-bit DACs, allowing for advanced processing of all incoming audio - including Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced and AURO-3D.

It also delivers Audyssey MultEQ XT32 advanced room optimisation, with optional Dirac Live, Dirac Bass Control and Dirac ART for multiple speakers and up to four independent subwoofers.

Meanwhile, the AMP 30 aims to deliver flexible, high-power amplification; configured as a six-channel amplifier, it delivers 200W per channel and runs cool in slimline rack installations.

Channel pairs can be bridged to deliver up to three channels of 400W for systems with higher demand, or alternatively configured for bi-amping up to three speakers.

The AMP 30 provides balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs, supporting integration with other Marantz components for power upgrades in large-scale home cinemas.

The design also allows it to function as a performance upgrade for key speakers in larger Marantz-based systems.
