Samsung Electronics has introduced its Micro RGB display, claimed to be the world’s first large-format screen to feature a micro-scale RGB LED backlight.
The 115” model marks the debut of Samsung’s proprietary Micro RGB Technology, designed to deliver new levels of colour accuracy and contrast in the premium TV category.
At the core of the development is an ultra-fine array of individually controlled red, green and blue micro LEDs, each measuring less than 100µm. Unlike conventional backlighting, this architecture provides direct control over each RGB element, enabling more precise colour reproduction and dynamic contrast.
The system is supported by Samsung’s Micro RGB AI Engine, which analyses each frame in real time to optimise both image and sound. Features such as Color Booster Pro enhance scenes with muted tones, while Micro RGB Precision Color technology achieves 100% coverage of the BT.2020 colour space. Certification has also been granted by German body VDE.

To support residential deployment, Samsung has equipped the display with Glare Free technology for use in brighter environments, a super-slim metal design for integration into high-end interiors, and its Vision AI platform that combines AI-driven picture, audio, and voice control via a generative AI-powered Bixby assistant.
Security is underpinned by Samsung Knox, and the product ships with a seven-year Tizen OS upgrade guarantee to provide long-term support.
Following its launch in Korea, Micro RGB will be rolled out in the US before becoming available globally, with additional screen sizes planned.
