Steinway Lyngdorf launches shallow woofer for custom install market

Steinway Lyngdorf has launched a high-performance in-wall woofer for installations requiring the most shallow woofer solution.

The BWS-210, which stands for Boundary Woofer Shallow, offers an in-wall woofer with a higher dynamic range and SPL than its predecessor in 2024.

The BWS-210 incorporated two 10” bass drivers, designed for custom installations that require a shallow woofer solution with the best bass performance.

The BWS-210 uses a patented high-excursion shallow woofer design customised for Steinway Lyngdorf.

The design is based on an innovative voice-coil / cone geometry and suspension which allows for high excursion from space-saving construction.

A four-layer voice coil, ultra-rigid dual aluminium cone, neodymium magnet and rigid cast aluminium provide strong bass performance associated with Steinway & Sons speakers.

The rigid and sealed enclosure is easy to integrate, fitting 6” cavity walls with an extended height for bass extension.

In combination with the two 10” bass drivers, the BWS-210 delivers high performance from a slim design.

It offers a solution for any media room and home cinema with no space for placing woofers in the room.

The brand’s seventh woofer model supplements a portfolio that includes stackable installation woofers and in-room woofers featuring high-gloss piano lacquer.

The BWS-210 is part of the company’s Integrated System Approach.

Steinway Lyngdorf’s incorporated RoomPerfect technology acoustically calibrates the speaker and woofer performance to the room acoustics.

The unique Bass Management achieves the very best sound integration between the chosen Steinway & Sons speakers and woofers.
