Meridian Audio has appointed a private distributor for the UK and Ireland, introducing a sales model with demonstrable success in other global markets.
In collaboration with AV8 Distribution, the company is swapping direct sales for a partner-led approach established in markets like North America.
The move will see AV8 represent Meridian’s custom and luxury audio product sales across the region to replace Distribution by Meridian (DbM).
The independent distributor is headed up by Barry Sheldrick, who has over 25 years of experience with Meridian’s products, trade partners and markets.
In an official statement, he said: “AV8 Distribution is focused on building on the strong foundations already in place, working closely with our integrators on presales, design and commissioning support.
“With three demonstration spaces up and running, we can help our partners experience how special audio and video can be, first-hand.
“AV8 is about helping to deliver the very best experiences, anywhere.
“This is just the beginning, and there will be much more to follow.”
Throughout the transition, Meridian says customers and partners will continue to benefit from its established relationships and market knowledge as well as ongoing access to design, specification, technical expertise and commissioning services.
John Buchanan, CEO of Meridian, added that partnering with Sheldrick helps the company sharpen its strengths while supporting trade partners with a tried-and-tested model.
The development is thought to mark the next phase of Meridian’s ‘Future of Sound’ strategy, supporting alignment across global markets.
