Niko has won the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2014 for its new external video unit for Niko Home Control. The jury at the Red Dot Awards evaluated 4,815 entries from 53 countries. Only those products that could demonstrate their quality and innovation were awarded.
Sleek design, additional safety
The new external video unit manufactured by Niko is the nicest looking one on the market: its sleek, slim design and black finish make this unit unique and ideal for any contemporary home. The device has been specifically designed to fit in seamlessly with your Niko Home Control installation. It adds a number of safety features, such as an ultra clear view of whoever is at your door. Kids ringing doorbells will no longer remain anonymous. As soon as someone rings the doorbell, the camera will start recording. More info is available in the enclosed press release.
Red Dot Award: quality label for design
The Red Dot Design awards are an initiative from the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen and are internationally recognised as a label that stands for quality and exceptional design. There are three categories of awards: Product Design, Communication Design and Design Concept. On 7 July 2014, Niko will receive its award in the presence of 1,200 international guests during the Red Dot Gala and the Designers’ Night. The external video unit will then also be on display at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen.
The Niko Home Control system is distributed in the UK by Moss Technical Services:
