StormAudio boosts live room correction with Dirac

Immersive audio specialist StormAudio has announced that it has entered an agreement with Dirac Research to incorporate its Dirac Live room correction technology into its new StormOptimizer suite.

Dirac Live is a patented room correction technology that works to correct frequency response and also the impulse response of the loudspeakers in a space. The tool offers impulse response correction over a large listening area to improve the depth, positioning and distinction of individual voices and instruments.

Incorporating multiple measurement and mixed phase correction, Dirac Live is designed to deliver transparent sound with tighter bass and reduced room modes.

“At StormAudio, it’s our mission to provide our integrators and end-users with exceptional sound and service, and our agreement with Dirac enables us to achieve both,” commented Yves Trélohan, SVP of StormAudio’s Home Entertainment and Luxury Audio Product division.

He continued: “Dirac Live has been well recognized as the best room correction solution on the market. It will be a powerful tool for our integrators – they will deliver a premium listening experience to their customers while spending less time on site.”

StormAudio’s hardware line consists of 4 preamp/processors, 3 power amplifiers and a 16-channel Integrated Immersive Sound AV Processor – all with built-in Auro-3D, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X compatibility.

The manufacturer’s range incorporating Dirac Live room correction technology will be on display at the Munich High End Show, taking place from 18 to 21 at the MOC centre, and released shortly after. Previously installed processors will be able to be updated via a free DSP runtime firmware upgrade to the products already installed.
