Last night, the 2019 EMEA and Global CEDIA Awards took place at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
The sell out event commemorated some of the best projects and companies in the residential AV industry from France, India, South Africa, UAE, UK, and the USA.
The prestigious black-tie event began with a drinks reception in the Museum’s famous Dome, which was sponsored by Monitor Audio. The 400 industry professionals who attended were then led through to the Raphael Gallery, the largest and most famous part of the Museum, where Tabatha O’Connor, CEDIA global president and CEO formally opened the event before attendees enjoyed a three-course meal.
After the dinner, British actress and comedian Sally Phillips took to the stage for the evening’s entertainment before presenting the awards to the deserving winners.
Best New Software went to Control4's Smart Home OS3
CEDIA’s chairman, Dave Humphries began proceedings by congratulating the two Volunteers of the Year in attendance – Geoff Meads and Michael Robinson.
The ceremony concluded with Sam Woodward being awarded the 2019 Special Recognition accolade for his incredible technical knowledge and selfless support for the industry.

Once the awards had been presented, the guests then returned to the Dome for the after-party, sponsored by Sonos to celebrate the success of the industry.
“We honoured the best in our industry at the awards ceremony in London – those who have done the kind of work that makes us all proud to be CEDIA members,” said O’Connor. “This is a truly special year to take home a CEDIA trophy, as 2019 marks CEDIA’s 30th Anniversary.
“Three decades ago, a group of entrepreneurs, hobbyists, and hackers had a vision. They had a passion. They wanted to be able to take what they loved to do and share it with the rest of the world.
“It was great to have such a variety of members with us at the EMEA awards ceremony – thanks to everyone for supporting CEDIA during your time as a member and encouraging your colleagues as they were awarded a 2019 CEDIA Award.”
This year’s ceremony was supported by headline sponsor, ABB; drinks reception sponsor, Monitor Audio; associate sponsors, Blustream, Bowers & Wilkins, Meridian Audio, and Samsung; and after party sponsor, Sonos.
