AudioControl has joined the IMAX Enhanced Programme, combining its high-end consumer products with IMAX digitally remastered 4K HDR content and DTS audio technologies to deliver a high-quality immersive entertainment experience in the home.
As one of the initial licensees of the programme, AudioControl will offer a range of IMAX Enhanced AV receivers and preamp/processors for consumers to experience IMAX sound married with AudioControl’s AV engines to enhance the home entertainment experience.
The IMAX Enhanced AV receivers and preamp/processors from AudioControl feature DTS:X immersive audio decoding that is optimised to reproduce true IMAX theatrical sound mixes available in IMAX Enhanced content.
The exclusive IMAX audio mix is rendered for home theatre environments by making thorough adjustments modelled on the IMAX theatrical sound system and is delivered using a special variant of the DTS:X codec technology.
The IMAX Enhanced firmware update for AudioControl cinema products, is now available. Current owners of the Concert AVR-7 and AVR-9 receivers and Maestro M5 and M9 preamp/processors can download the required firmware to update their units.
