Janus Technology director reveals challenge for charity fundraising

Founder and director of Janus Technology, Richard Caton, has announced that he is undertaking a trek through Nepal in October, including an ascent of Kyajo Ri (6,186m) to raise money for two charities: Together For Cinema and Sherpa Aid UK.

Having fun multiple half and full marathons, Caton is always on the lookout for a new challenge. This year he has chosen to take on a three-week trek in Nepal where he will go through the Himalayas and to the peak of Kyajo Ri.

“I love to challenge myself to do things that others may see as silly or impossible,” he said. “This challenge will certainly be one of the hardest I have put myself through. I wanted it to mean something, not just for me but also for others. Which is why I’ve decided to fundraise for Together For Cinema and Sherpa Aid UK.”

Together For Cinema installs home cinema rooms in children’s hospices and respite centres, making home entertainment technology available to thousands of children and young adults with life limiting conditions, plus their families and support workers.

Sherpa Aid UK is a charity set up by Jagged Globe that supports mountain workers and their families who are ill, injured or killed whilst working in the mountains. It was originally set up after ice on the west shoulder of Everest killed 16 Sherpas in 2014.

You can donate via Caton’s GoFundMe page.
