ISE 2026 to debut listening suites for home audio brands

ISE has set out its plans for 2026, with managing director Mike Blackman unveiling new initiatives, fresh content, and a show floor that is once again expanding. But for many in the home technology sector, the biggest news is the launch of dedicated listening suites.

A new home for high-performance audio

For the first time, ISE will offer purpose-built listening suites inside the Fira Gran Via. Located in the refurbished CC2 space, the suites are designed to give high-end audio and hi-fi brands the environment they need to demonstrate products properly. For home audio professionals, this is a welcome development that puts sound firmly in the spotlight.

Growth continues – but space is tight

ISE 2026 will host more than 1,400 exhibitors, including 184 first-timers. That represents 5% growth year-on-year, but with Fira Gran Via close to maximum capacity, Blackman confirmed some exhibitors may face a wait for additional space. The long-term solution, the new Hall Zero, has been delayed until 2028, so for now organisers are maximising every corner of the venue. Visitors can expect a show floor that feels larger and busier than ever.

AI takes centre stage

The choice of keynote speaker reinforces AI’s growing role in the industry. Sol Rashidi, the world’s first chief AI officer, with more than 200 deployments and 10 patents to her name, will headline ISE 2026, focusing on how to turn AI hype into hard ROI while preserving human capital.

Cyber security stays in focus

Cyber security also remains a priority. The new Cyber Security Summit will offer attendees a “clear roadmap” that bridges AV and IT security, with standards bodies involved.

Spotlight on Spark

Finally, ISE unveiled Spark, a new platform for the creative industries. Debuting as a 1,000 sq m “incubation” at ISE 2026 in Hall 8.1, Spark will showcase content creation, gaming and media workflows with stages and interactive activations. The long-term vision is for Spark to evolve into a standalone event in Barcelona, running alongside ISE each year.
