Crestron has announced the UK release of the latest version of its Pyng software incorporating native Sonos and Amazon Alexa support, among other updates.
Designed to make simplify the integration process for Crestron Technology Professionals (CTPs), Version 1.010.0038 of the manufacturer’s Pyng software has been updated with additional support and new customisation and remote configuration capabilities.
Native Sonos support means users can easily pair Crestron Pyng with Sonos Connects and immediately select and control Sonos favourites via Crestron touch screens, such as the newly introduced 5-in TSW-560P portrait touch screen.
Alexa support is also now native for Pyng systems, allowing CTPs to integrate Amazon Alexa software with home systems without any programming and by following configuration steps. Once connected, Alexa is able to automatically recognise rooms and scene names from Crestron Pyng for immediate voice control, such as “Alexa, tell Crestron it’s too hot in the kitchen.”
Installers can additionally now pre-configure customer rooms, lighting loads, and modules off-site and then retrieve them from the cloud on-site.
The update also brings the clients the ability to create their own scenes and schedules for lighting and shades through user interfaces other than Pyng, i.e. mobile projects and touch screens created by the residential edition of Crestron Studio software. The integration of Studio and Pyng allows installers to set up and deploy AV controls instantly, without the need for programming.
The latest version of Pyng can be downloaded via the Crestron website.
