Marantz has announced the introduction of the SR8012, an 11.2-channel receiver billed as the flagship model for its amp line.
The manufacturer’s SR8012’s has a power output of 205W per channel. Its wealth of features includes network streaming, HEOS wireless multiroom audio support, as well as eight HDMI inputs.
Sitting above Marantz’s SR6012 and SR7012 offerings introduced earlier in 2017, the SR8012 also packs in DTS:X and Auro 3D surround sound support, in addition to supporting Dolby Atmos in up to a 7.1.4 configuration.
Its eight inputs and three outputs incorporate 4K and HDR (including Hybrid Log Gamma and Dolby Vision) passthrough, with eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) on the horizon via a firmware update in the near future.
The copper chassis-designed amp supports FLAC, WAV and ALAC files up to 24bit/192kHz and DSD5.6MHz when it comes to plarback, with AirPlay, Bluetooth and USB port also on offer.
The receiver will be available in black and silver from December 2017 onward, and will be priced at £2,699 in the UK.
