Panasonic adds Alexa & Google Assistant support

Panasonic is the latest TV manufacturer to add voice control – coming in the form of both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant support to select 4K models.

Panasonic’s 2018 4K TVs just got a little better (dependant on your opinion on voice control).

Its latest firmware update brings European owners of Panasonic TVs such as its 77-in 4K HDR OLED TV the ability to control certain functions on their TV via an Alexa or Google Assistant-powered speaker. This functionality expands to turning the TV on and off and changing both channel and volume by voice command.

To access the feature, users simply need to update when prompted on the Panasonic app and pair up their speaker(s) via the Amazon Alexa or Google Home app.

Back in August, it was also confirmed that Panasonic is working hard on bringing HDR10+ support to select TVs too.
