Polk Audio has today launched the Signa S4, the company’s first Dolby Atmos soundbar, featuring seven drivers including two upward-firing speakers to deliver Dolby Atmos sound.
Customers can pair the new Signa S4 with the wireless subwoofer which is included to create more of a cinematic sound experience.
The two upward-firing speakers deliver Dolby Atmos height channels to create a lifelike overhead sound for immersive movie watching, gaming or music listening. The Signa S4 can also up-mix non-Dolby Atmos rendering height, surround and centre channels to create a virtual Dolby Atmos experience.
The Signa S4’s advanced seven-speaker array features a discrete centre channel and optimised left/right tweeters and woofers for a vast sound stage. Featuring a dedicated centre channel, paired with Polk’s patented VoiceAdjust technology, it dramatically improves dialogue intelligibility and ensures listeners hear every word during fast-paced action scenes, sporting events, and also when watching content at lower volumes.
A wireless subwoofer is included with Signa S4 to provide deep bass. It connects wirelessly to the soundbar automatically on start up and can be conveniently placed almost anywhere in the room that is within 10m. The Bass Adjust feature allows users to control low frequency output on both the soundbar and subwoofer to generate an optimised blend and maximum impact at any desired level.
As well as Voice Adjust and Bass Adjust, users can access presets fine-tuned for movie or music listening with the press of one button. In addition, Signa S4 includes Night Mode, which automatically attenuates bass output and accentuates dialogue clarity so users can avoid disturbing other people.
Easy to install and set up, the Signa S4 has a HDMI or optical cable (or aux-in for older TVs) included which connects the soundbar to the TV, making it ready to use. Built-in HDMI eARC can pass through native Dolby Atmos streams.
For added convenience, the Signa S4 is programmed to work with most TV remotes and pairs with mobile devices via Bluetooth to facilitate streaming.
