Lithe Audio goes low-profile for small ceiling cavities

Lithe Audio has unveiled a new passive low-profile ceiling speaker, designed for installations where space is limited.

Without compromising on sound quality, the 67mm deep passive loudspeaker is IP44-rated and ideal for slim ceiling cavities, such as bathrooms, garden rooms, dropped ceilings, and pitched roofs.

Weighing just 1.04kg, and with a cut-out diameter of 210mm, the low-profile speaker comes with a frameless 230mm magnetic grille which can be painted to blend into the ceiling colour and easily removed for cleaning.

The ceiling speaker is made up of a 6.5” polypropylene cone woofer and a 0.75” titanium cone tweeter. Delivering 8 Ohms through 30W RMS, the speaker is easy to install and comes with a two-year warranty.

“We’re already getting positive feedback from installers about this speaker,” said Amit Ravat, co-founder of Lithe Audio. “They’ve been looking for a quality solution to installing speakers in thin ceiling cavities, and as designers in this area we’re happy to be able to provide a solution that delivers slim speakers without compromising on sound quality.”

Lithe Audio’s new low-profile passive ceiling speaker will be available from 1 March.
