Sonos has introduced two new speakers that reflect its focus on strengthening the multiroom audio system.
The Sonos Play and Era 100 SL aim to facilitate a room-by-room listening experience, alongside preferred room assistants and 100+ streaming services.
The brand says Sonos Play is its most versatile speaker, with connection available over WiFi to group across room or pair for stereo. A charging base also allows users to anchor it in the home.
Equipped with a removable loop, the speaker offers 24 hours of battery life in an IP67-rated waterproof design with a built-in power bank to charge mobile phones.

Tom Conrad, chief executive officer at Sonos, said: “Much of consumer tech promises innovation, yet too often delivers isolation — new devices replacing old ones instead of building on what already works.
“Sonos Play and Era 100 SL are a clear expression of what Sonos does best, creating products that feel simple on the surface, but are deeply powerful because of the system behind them.”
Users can group multiple speakers directly from a Bluetooth connection when away from home, with Automatic Trueplay tuning adapting the sound to any environment.
Meanwhile, Era 100 SL offers a more accessible way into the Sonos ecosystem with a mic-free design and streamlined feature set.
It can expand into the Sonos system over time – perhaps in another room, through stereo pairing or the buildout of a home theatre, the company points out.
Chris Kallai, vice president of product creation at Sonos, added: “Sonos Play and Era 100 SL offer two distinct ways to shape a listening experience that fits how people actually live, while making it simple to add new rooms, new moments and new possibilities over time.”
Sonos Play and Era 100 SL were tuned with input from the Sonos Soundboard, a group of specialists across music, film, and more.
