XReal presents ‘world’s first’ custom silicon AR glasses

XReal has developed Augmented Reality (AR) glasses featuring the company’s first silicon chip.

The XReal One Series offers cinematic spatial display as well as enhanced audio from Bose.

Built into the glasses is the X1 integrated co-processing chip, designed to deliver three-dimensional space computing.

The chip delivers low motion-to-photon latency of ~3ms at 120Hz, ensuring a smooth anchored or floating spatial screen that surpasses industry benchmarks of ~20ms.

The custom chip is the first of its kind for any optical see through (OST) AR glasses, unlocking a spatial display for unlimited apps, games and specialist holographic experiences using video-out over USB-C connection.

The series is comprised of two models, XReal One and XReal One Pro, which offer different viewing capabilities.

The XReal One uses a triangular birdbath lens design to reach a 50-degree field of view, while the One Pro showcases the first flat-prism lens design for 57-degree views.

The glasses aim to be eye-friendly, benefiting from re-designed optical engine, adjustable interpupillary distance options, multiple eye health certifications and a multi-modal AI camera.

Chi Xu, CEO and co-founder of XReal, said: " X1 is the result of over three years of cutting-edge research and development, culminating in the world's first customised silicon designed specifically for OST AR glasses.

“X1 powers the kind of spatial computing we've always envisioned and that customers have been eagerly waiting for.”
