CEDIA (the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association) has revealed that board member Alister Smith, Managing Director at London-based integration firm, DLUK, is the new Vice Chair of its volunteer Board of Directors.
Alister joined CEDIA’s volunteer Board of Directors in January 2014, and will be filling the shoes of Kris Hogg who stepped up to take the position of Chair at the same time. As Vice Chair, Alister will provide important support and advice for Kris as he leads the Board in representing the custom installation industry throughout Region 1 (the UK, Europe, Russia and the CIS, Middle East, India, Pakistan and Africa).
“We are pleased to welcome Alister to the Board as Vice Chair,†says Wendy Griffiths, Director of CEDIA Region 1. “We’re experiencing a healthy and steady growth not only as a membership body, but also as an industry and we look forward to building on this momentum over the next year with the help and effort of Alister, Kris and the rest of our volunteer Board of Directors.â€
“With such a strong board currently in place, I am thoroughly delighted to have been nominated as Vice Chair for CEDIA Region 1†commented Alister. “When I was first elected onto the board, I stated that I intended to support the region in their mission to develop & encourage high standards within the market place. A message I stand by still. With our industry continuing to evolve at such a fast pace, CEDIA must now ensure that it develops into brand with core strengths, with a view to becoming a figure of real authority in the future.â€
