Amanda Wildman makes history as CEDIA's first female chairperson

CEDIA has made a historic appointment to its Global Board of Directors for the 2026-28 term, signalling a growing recognition of diverse leadership styles in the industry.

The association names Amanda Wildman, president and owner of integrator TruMedia Home, as chairperson after an overwhelmingly approved slate vote by members – making her the first woman to hold the role since the organisation’s founding.

Wildman will lead CEDIA’s Executive Committee alongside vice chairperson Edward Gilmore, treasurer Stuart Tickle and secretary James Chen.

A milestone for gender representation in a male-dominated market, the appointment also reflects broader changes in the smart home sector as it evolves from technical niche to mature global industry.

Former chairperson Alex Capecelatro will continue to serve on the committee as immediate past chairperson to provide continuity amid rapid technological and economic change.

Newly elected integrator board members Rich Green of Rich Green Design, Jennifer Mallett of Level Up Automation and James Ratcliffe of Homeplay Ltd bring hands-on market experience from different regions.

Meanwhile, board-appointed members Kris Hogg of Samsung and Maryellen Oswald of Somfy provide important representation from global manufacturers.
