ASCENDO’s new DSP4-6602 amplifier pairs ‘brute force with residential refinement’

ASCENDO has introduced a new DSP amplifier aiming to deliver extreme low-frequency power in demanding installations, minus the limitations typically associated with professional equipment.

The DSP4-6602 was built to rectify fan noise and limited integration, issues often encountered when using traditional pro-grade amplifiers to drive large-format subwoofer systems.

With up to 6600W RMS output and sustained performance down to 5Hz, the amplifier is engineered to control the largest ASCENDO infrasonic subwoofer systems.

It can also handle more dynamic bass setups, offering stable operation at two ohms and the ability to bridge channels into four-ohm loads.

Geoffrey Heinzel, co-managing partner of the company, said: “The DSP4-6602 has both the brute-force low-frequency performance and residential refinement that today’s high-end cinemas require.”

Designed specifically with luxury home cinema in mind, the amplifier features a low-noise cooling system and compact 1RU form factor.

Other advanced control features include selectable 12V trigger input logic, trigger output, configurable auto-standby and Ethernet-based multi-amplifier management.
