Dirac Live room treatment technologies debut in miniDSP’s Tide16 amplifier

miniDSP has confirmed its new 16-channel processor includes Dirac Live Active Room Treatment (ART), alongside Live Room Correction and Bass Control.

Designed for audiophiles, integrators and system designers, the Tide16 aims to deliver precision and flexibility in high-performance playback environments.

The unit combines advanced connectivity with the full Dirac Live suite, acting as a hub for both stereo and multichannel systems.

Rikard Hellerfelt, VP & head BA consumer electronics at Dirac, said: “By integrating Dirac Live Active Room Treatment into the new Tide16, miniDSP is making cutting-edge room optimisation accessible to a wider audience, unlocking studio-grade performance in real-world listening rooms.”

With up to 16 configurable output channels, the Tide16 supports setups such as 9.1.6, targeting home theatre, immersive audio and professional listening applications.

Dirac Live ART, introduced in 2023, manages low-frequency resonances for more consistent bass performance across the entire listening area.

Connectivity includes HDMI, Toslink, USB Audio, and balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA stereo analogue inputs, along with 16 balanced XLR outputs. Wireless audio is available via Bluetooth.

A calibrated microphone is sold separately.

Also included are Dirac Live Room Correction, which optimises magnitude and phase response to overcome the limitations of traditional EQ, and Bass Control using machine learning to co-optimise speakers for consistent performance.
