Meridian Audio launches new in-wall loudspeaker

Meridian Audio has announced the DSP750 In-Wall Digital Active Loudspeaker, its latest loudspeaker addition to the Architectural range.

The new loudspeaker demonstrates complete audio immersion, providing enough power and bass to create the ultimate listening experience, making the DSP750 Meridian’s highest performing architectural loudspeaker yet.

Complete with a host of exclusive Meridian technologies, the DSP750 features three new, high-performance drive units, a CLASS-M DSP engine providing thermal and dynamic bass protenction for detailed and accurate sound, and a ‘double-baffle’ aluminium enclosure design to minimise unwanted resonances and colouration.

It also has separate mid-range driver enclosures to eliminate interaction with the bass driver, as well as five drive-units powered by a bridged pair of Dynamic Hi-Res amplifiers, each pair capable of delivering over 100W into 8 Ohms.

Enhanced Bass Alignment is used to heighten sound quality across the frequency range, resulting in added clarity. It also features dynamic bass protection to provide maximum excursion without distortion.

The ‘Centre Elevation’ technology creates an immersive sound experience to make the sound appear to come from the centre of the screen.

Meridian’s unique enhancement technologies including FIFO buffering, DSP upsampling, apodising filters, and Meridian High Resolution is used for the best possible audio outcome from all digital sources.

The DSP750 is designed for a natural and lifelike sound with high fidelity and perfect tonal balance to deliver a maximum output of 120dB and bass extension down to 30Hz.

The built-in custom tweeter with a beryllium dome and diffraction expansion technology ensures a wide sound dispersion to create a lifelike sound, capable of playing over 40kHz.

For easy installation and precise positioning, the DSP750 has an ultra-shallow 100mm mounting depth. The rough-in box and frame can be adjusted for various wall materials and depths, whilst the magnetic grille can be painted to blend seamlessly into interior décor.

“Specifically designed and engineered for the most demanding architectural installations and dedicated home theatres alike, this is by far our most powerful architectural loudspeaker yet,” said Barry Sheldrick, Meridian’s director of sales.

“The DSP750 is testament to what Meridian can achieve, combining power and fidelity to give our dealers a discrete, outstanding loudspeaker solution that packls one heck of a punch. With multiple projects already specified with our Reference in-wall loudspeaker, it is great to see the DSP750 being deployed in different types of installations, providing epic performance every time.”
