Monitor Audio expands Radius Series with 4G models for custom install

Monitor Audio has launched the fourth generation of its Radius Series (4G), offering new acoustic technologies and installation options aimed at custom installers.

The compact loudspeaker range comprises three models – the Radius 1, 3 and an On-Wall model – designed to scale from stereo to multi-channel and distributed AV.

Built on the brand’s Transparent Design Philosophy, the lineup comes with a custom Floor Stand, Desk Pad and two Wall Bracket accessories.

Monitor Audio says significant advancements were introduced to the series to refine the compact speaker category.

For example, its Ceramic-Coated Aluminium/Magnesium (C-CAM) cone technology is designed to remain rigid and maintain pistonic behaviour, while the cones themselves incorporate the latest Rigid Surface Technology (RST III) to reduce resonance and improve fidelity, according to the company.

The speakers also introduce a redesigned C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter with an external magnet motor system, offering a different configuration compared with conventional tweeter architectures.

Other engineering updates include revised crossover networks; Through-Bolt driver bracing for improved cabinet rigidity; and High-Velocity II (HiVe II) port technology to enhance bass performance.

Monitor Audio adds that the Radius 3 benefits from a 50% larger port than its predecessor to improve low-frequency output.
