Meridian Audio has announced the UK release of its rack-mounted eight-channel power amplifier, the Meridian 258, following it debut at CEDIA 2016.
A high power addition to multi-room audio systems, the 258 amplifier measures 1U high and has an energy efficient Class D ranking, with no need for an internal fan or external cooling.
The Meridian 258 offers 100W per channel into 4 ohms and >70W per channel into 8 ohms. Constructed in aluminium, its output filter has been designed to maintain audio performance when part of a hi res audio system. The amplifier additionally incorporates an advanced linear power supply for best isolation from the AC supply.
The amp features a very short signal path for signal purity and isolation between channels, with multi-layer circuit boards ensuring electromagnetic performance.
