Optoma intros laser 4K projector

Following the introduction of its first 4K projectors for the residential market, Optoma has introduced the UHZ65 4K HDR laser projector.

Optoma is seemingly on a roll, after the launch of its 4K UHD HDR-compatible projectors for the home back in June.

Now it has unveiled its flagship UHZ65 4K HDR projector, based on the technology of the company's UHD65 model.

Incorporating pixel-switching technology, the projector packs in more brightness than the UHD65 (2,200 lumens) – coming in at 3,000 lumens – and greater contrast ratio too, at 2,000,000:1 (rather than 1,200,000:1).

The UHZ65 also offers motion-processing modes for frame interpolation, and a reference mode for recreating the DCI-P3 colour space used in cinemas.

Inputs include HDMI inputs and a powered USB port for easy access to services such as Google Chromecast or Amazon Fire TV.

The Optoma UHZ65 is priced at £5,000 in the UK.
