Screen Innovations set to unveil host of new products at CEDIA Expo

This week’s CEDIA Expo will see Screen Innovations (SI) demonstrate its dedication to the success of home systems integrators in the motorised shade and screen business by introducing a range of new products.

Taking inspiration from its network of systems integrators, SI has developed technologies, products and systems that will overcome common challenges effectively and efficiently.

“Despite a rocky, pandemic-ridden 2020 and ongoing supply chain issues, we never stop listening to our integrators and innovating products that make a real difference in their livelihoods,” said Ryan Gustafson, SI’s CEO. “They are the reason we do what we do, and our top priority has always been to develop the types of shading and screen products they want. They tell us what we can do to improve, and we take their suggestions to the design and engineering drawing board.”

Solo 3

At CEDIA Expo, a focal point of SI’s booth will be the Solo 3, a re-envisioned line of design-centric motorised projection screen cassettes that discreetly blends into surrounding environments. The clean, sharp lines of the self-contained Solo 3 cassette are designed to complement trending contemporary and minimalist home designs.

Designed to be more visually appealing, Solo 3 is manufactured without typical demarcations of the end caps. Units come powder-coated in white, black or painted to match the surrounding surface. If users want the unit hidden, it can be mounted above the ceiling, hiding the entire cassette.

The new Solo 3, which is available in 275, 575, and 675 cassette sizes, replaces SI’s legacy 3 and 5 Series motorised projection screen lines.

Moab

Within the new 575 and 675 Solo 3 models, SI has included a newly designed 485-based control board to facilitate faster programming of setpoints, rotation, and motor reset, automation of discovery and programming of keypads and remotes, and seamless integration with third-party control systems. Moab (Mother of all Boards) features numerous inputs and outputs to support a wide range of 485-based automation and control configurations and simplifies the commissioning of screen settings with other control devices such as SI keypads.

Built into the translucent housing of Moab, which may be purchased separately from Solo 3 for programming assistance, are 485 and dry contact ports, 12-volt triggers and IR receivers. All programming can be accomplished using Moab without a computer of software.

Zen 2

Also being shown at CEDIA Expo will be the Zen 2 cassette, the first décor-minded outdoor shading solution which has an elegant, customisable, architecturally friendly design that effortlessly transforms decks, gazebos, patios, and other outdoor areas into comfortable, stylish living spaces.

Zen 2 can be custom painted in order to give architects and designers the option to seamlessly blend the cassette into the home’s design. It also accommodates popular outdoor shading fabrics to 25ft wide and 16ft tall and installs easily and quickly thanks to its unique snap-in tube and hidden bracket attachment.

Nano 2

Building on the popularity of its fashion-forward Nano line of motorised shading solutions, SI’s new Nano 2 has a host of revolutionary new features in direct response to requests from dealers, yet maintains the same sleek, modern aesthetic as the rest of the popular Nano line.

An enhancement especially helpful to integrators, designers and architects is Nano 2’s removable front cover which provides easy access to the motors, technology, and shading fabric inside the cassette. This feature enables any necessary levelling adjustments, maintenance and fabric swaps to be handled easily without detaching the cassette from the window. The Nano 2 motor, power, and control cables can also be removed from the mounted shading cassette for service. Other refinements enable smoother, quieter raising and lowering of the shade and quicker programming and integration with other 485-controlled devices and systems.

Demos of the Solo 3, Zen 2, Nano 2, Moab and other innovative shade and screen solutions can be seen on SI’s booth 19061 at CEDIA Expo from Thursday 29 September.
