Updates to Modus VR software to deliver greater control and customisation for integrators

Modus VR, developer of a virtual reality design software for media rooms and home cinemas, has announced a number of updates to its award-winning platform that delivers integrators and their client’s greater control and customisation.

According to Ken Brueck, co-founder of Modus VR, the new software improves every step of the design process, from offering new aesthetics options to an updated CAD export workflow, allowing integrators to design faster, improve the client’s virtual experience, and close more sales.

It is now faster to export CAD documents once rooms are built in virtual reality using Modus VR’s new CAD export workflow. Using a simple user interface, integrators are able to create as many different views of the space as they need and can also add company logos and information to PDFs for professional presentation.

The new support for Windows Mixed Reality headsets eliminates the need for external sensors, thus makes setup and breakdown of a VR experience much faster and simpler and enhances the sales process.

New virtual objects are now available with the upgrade including two new Epson projectors, SnapAV Signature Series racks, more default sizes for 16:9 projection screens, area rugs, ceiling fans, and fibre optic ceilings.

There are also new finishes available for floors and walls, including select wood flooring, various carpet patterns, polished concrete, amongst others, while seating options now include a variety of leathers and microfibre.

Minor upgrades for existing objects include in-ceiling speakers with smaller bezels, recessed lighting with round and square options in four sizes, and additional pendant light styles. A new flexible couch and ottoman can be resized on three axes for complete control, with a realistic and reactive appearance that adds cushions as the length is increased.

For further ease of use, the object library now stores and categorises 3D models of all furniture, appliances and decorations.

There is now a new process for creating colour palettes to make it more straightforward for the user. Designers can now set up their own library of colour swatches, assign them to multiple objects, and make sweeping changes even faster.

The software update also fixes a number of bugs. The update is available immediately to all existing customers at no extra charge.

You can see Modus VR being demonstrated at CEDIA 2019 at Booth 4343 in the Colorado Convention Centre.
