Artcoustic launches its 'most powerful infra-subwoofer to date'

Artcoustic has unveiled what it calls its most powerful and most extended subwoofer yet, bringing infrasonic performance to professional and residential audio environments.

The Sub 4-12 INFRA, is built around four 12-inch long-throw drivers housed in a precision sixth-order bandpass enclosure. This engineering approach allows the subwoofer to deliver accurate, controlled output below 20 Hz, reaching into the infrasonic range with ease.

Artcoustic says the new model was developed to produce linear, effortless energy beneath 20 Hz, while remaining compact enough to fit behind a cinema screen.

Instead of relying on one oversized driver, the company opted for four matched 12-inch units, creating cohesive phase alignment and a combined cone area equivalent to a single 24-inch driver.

According to the manufacturer, this configuration reduces distortion and increases both thermal headroom and long-term reliability.

The result is a subwoofer that brings infra-bass performance into practical installations.

The Sub 4-12 INFRA promises extreme low-frequency extension, high efficiency and an installer-friendly footprint suited to cinemas, home theatres and performance spaces where large enclosures are not feasible.

Designed for integration with DSP and modern amplification, the new model aims to deliver consistent infrasonic output across a wide range of applications.

Co-founder Kim Donvig sums up the goal behind the product: “It’s the subwoofer that carries the soul of any cinematic experience” — and Artcoustic says the Sub 4-12 INFRA is built to deliver exactly that.
