PEAKnx launches adapters to modernise JUNG KNX touch panels without structural work

PEAKnx, the German-based specialist in home and building automation, has introduced a new range of adapters to replace older KNX touch panels from manufacturer JUNG.

The new adapters allow installers to upgrade older JUNG KNX touch panels – specifically the Smart Control 7 and 10 – with PEAKnx’s latest Control 12 and Control 16 devices, without modifying the existing flush-mounted boxes or carrying out refurbishment work.

Developed especially for the JUNG legacy touch panels, the adapters enable an upgrade path for ageing installations combining lighting, shading, heating and more.

Lorenz Rohrmann, managing director of PEAKnx GmbH, said: “With the new adapters, we offer a simple way to bring existing KNX installations up to date without affecting the building structure.

“This greatly simplifies refurbishment projects and makes them more efficient, resource-saving and sustainable.”

When replacing a Smart Control 7, the original SC 7 EBG flush-mounted box remains in place, with the adapter fixed directly on to it before installing the new PEAKnx panel.

The same principle applies to Smart Control 10 upgrades, where the SC 10 EBG box can be reused to fit a Control 16. This eliminates the need for chiselling, plasterwork or structural alterations.

The replacement kits, developed and manufactured in Germany, give users access to PEAKnx’s modern KNX touch panels, featuring 11.6-inch (Control 12) or 15.6-inch (Control 16) displays on the full Windows IoT Enterprise LTSC operating system.

Alongside the integrated YOUVI visualisation software, the panels support additional Windows- and browser-based platforms, including the JUNG Smart Visu Server for KNX visualisations.

Fanless cooling and a slim design deliver discreet integration into residential and commercial environments.
