Meridian is continuing the development of its Meridian Sooloos system, resulting in its most flexible, highest performance, and cost effective offering to-date. Meridian Sooloos continues to offer the highest quality audio and now offers even greater flexibility for storage by supporting third-party NAS devices. New control options for the system include redesigned iPhone and iPad applications and TouchPC, bringing touchscreen performance to any PC. All of these are available via free software updates. In addition, integration with third-party control systems including Crestron and Control4 will be highlighted at the show. Performance and hardware enhancements include core support for 24-bit ALAC, DSD, DXD and MQA. The recent integration with TIDAL also offers exclusive content and enables Meridian Sooloos customers to quickly and easily build a comprehensive library.
Meridian's DSP320 Ceiling/In-wall Loudspeaker, recently selected as a Finalist in CEDIA's Best New Product category, is the latest addition to Meridian's loudspeaker range. At only 100mm deep it is ideal for in-ceiling use while also slim enough for an in-wall set up. The DSP320 is engineered for wide dispersion over the maximum listening area and its baffle and grille design reduce unwanted diffraction. The unique design offers an incredibly authentic sound, and the onboard Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology means that the image height can be lowered, creating a wide stereo image. This is not possible with a conventional loudspeaker where a narrow sound image is generated that can only be aimed at a single 'sweet spot'. With all of the electronics located inside the enclosure, the DSP320 eliminates the need for amplification in the equipment rack thus saving space which also reduces the requirement for power and thermal management within the rack. The DSP320 offers incredible performance, simplicity of installation, and improved reliability to the installer.
The new Design and Specification Service, a complimentary service for current Meridian dealers can provide accurate and customised audio-visual system designs. This includes two-channel, multi-channel and multi-room system designs for the home or marine environment. All of these include a variety of performance options, full quotations and associated pricing options, all in a concise format. The service is designed to foster synergy between Meridian and its dealer, by providing enhanced audio/video sales tools, allowing the dealer to focus on other aspects of the installation.
Meridian is also thrilled to announce that co-founder, Bob Stuart, will be the proud recipient of CEDIA's 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award.
