KEF has expanded its Extreme Home Theatre lineup with two architectural speakers, designed to support home theatre setups in multipurpose living spaces.
The British audio manufacturer introduces the Ci5120QLM-THX and Ci3120QLM-THX, two models combining premium technologies with THX certifications: while the bigger Ci5 meets the Ultra specification for large rooms, the Ci3 is certified to the Select level for medium-sized spaces.
Both speakers are built around KEF’s 12th-generation Uni-Q driver array, a point-source configuration that disperses sound evenly throughout the room.

The system is enhanced by Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT), a maze-like structure that absorbs 99% of unwanted distortion from the rear of the tweeter.
The result, KEF says, is cleaner and more natural treble performance for films, music and gaming alike.

Both models use specially designed 4.75-inch bass drivers to achieve their low-distortion performance, capable of long-throw output and controlled low frequencies.
The Ci5 houses four bass drivers, while the Ci3 has two. Additional engineering refinements include KEF’s Flexible Decoupling Chassis to minimise unwanted vibrations, alongside a redesigned tweeter gap damper that improves detail and transient response.
A three-way system design ensures each driver is configured precisely for its role.
Despite their power, the speakers are designed to blend seamlessly into interiors; a thin bezel and paintable magnetic grille enable a seamless installation, bolstered by IP64-certified resistance to dust and splashes.
