PMC introduced its standmount prodigy1 and floorstanding 5 hi-fi loudspeakers at High End Munich this week.
Both speakers feature a 27mm tweeter and 130mm bass driver and are built on the same principles as the company’s QB1 flagship studio monitors at an affordable price point.
The prodigy1 compact standmount speaker is suited to small and medium size rooms. Both drive units are professionally proven, with the bass unit featuring in the PMC ci series. The soft dome tweeter is developed from PMC’s result6 studio monitors.
Prodigy5 is a compact floorstanding speaker that takes up the same space as bookshelf speakers on stands. It has similar performance characteristics of PMC studio monitors.
Both models feature the Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) bass loading found in all PMC speakers.
Complementing the ATL is Laminair, the speaker’s distinctive aerodynamically designed vent that controls air as it exits to reduce resistance, increase efficiency and eliminate airflow noise resulting in improvements to bass response and dynamic range.
The prodigy series is available in a silk black finish, with black fabric grilles available as an option.
