Russound’s Cinema Bar 3.0 3-channel passive soundbar is available now

Russound has introduced the three-channel passive soundbar, Cinema Bar 3.0, designed to work with wall mounted TVs of at least 65-in.

It is a left, centre, right soundbar offering 100 watts RMS power handling per channel, with three full-range four-inch PP drive units, three one-inch soft dome tweeters and three passive radiators. The passive radiators contribute to a low frequency response of 70Hz, which means the Cinema Bar 3.0 can be used without a subwoofer.

The Cinema Bar 3.0 is manufactured from reinforced MDF, with individual isolated audio chambers for each channel to ensure its audio reproduction is equal to that of a system with discrete speakers. Finished in a satin black, it is 78mm deep.

An oversized recessed area around the speaker terminals is designed to make connections easy, covering any wall openings for the cables and allowing room to hide any excess cables when the bar is mounted to the wall. The unit can be mounted directly to a wall using keyhole fixings, and MicroSlide brackets which permit 125mm horizontal adjustment for accurate positioning. Other mounting options allow the Cinema Bar 3.0 to be fastened to a third-party TV mount or soundbar mounting kit, or used freestanding on a piece of furniture.

Cinema Bar 3.0 can be combined with Russound’s recently launched AVA3.1 mini-AVR. The three-channel amplifier can be mounted behind the TV and links to it via HDMI ARC, with CEC control for use with modern TVs without a special dedicated remote control. With Apple Airplay and Chromecast, the TV plus AVA3.1 and Cinema Bar 3.0 combination can function as the audio hub for music playback as well.

The Cinema Bar 3.0 is available in the UK from Connected Distribution, Russound’s exclusive distributor for the region, and will be on display at the forthcoming EI Live trade show, Farnborough, September 18 to 19.
