Crestron has announced that it has expanded its partnership with Sonos in the US, with several Sonos offerings now available for purchase directly from the home automation manufacturer.
Crestron Technology Professionals (CTPs) in the United States are now able to purchase Sonos products including the Sonos PLAY and PLAYBASE as part of their usual ordering process.
Commenting on the move, John Clancy, VP of residential systems at Crestron, said: “Expanding our collaboration with Sonos makes sense for our dealers and the upscale homeowners they serve.”
“With direct purchasing, it’s now even easier for our dealers to offer Sonos speakers on any scale, from a single room to an entire estate, as part of a perfectly integrated Crestron home automation system.”
Sonos says it hopes to boost its relationship with the CI community; “The custom integrator channel continues to be a major focus here at Sonos,” commented Andrew Vloyenetes, director of sales.
He added: “Expanding our efforts with a true leader and innovator like Crestron is great for dealers and customers alike – together we’re making it as easy as possible to listen to music out loud in any room of the home.”
Products now available via Crestron (only in the US) include: PLAY:1 (black/white), PLAY:3 (black/white), PLAY:5 (black/white), PLAYBAR and PLAYBAR wall mount kit, PLAYBASE (black/white), CONNECT and CONNECT amp, BOOST and SUB (black/white).
Following the partnership announced by Sonos and Crestron last year, the manufacturer’s app can now be integrated as part of a Crestron system – allowing users to control Sonos products and their view music via Crestron touch screens, remotes and keypads. Sonos can also be integrated into bespoke scenes in different parts of the home.
