Denon X-Series AV receivers bring flexible system design to custom integrators

Denon has released its next generation X-Series AV receivers, designed to give integrators more flexibility in system design, calibration and multiroom distribution.

Both powered by multiroom audio platform HEOS, the AVR X2900H and AVC X3900H offer advanced calibration options and deeper control for dedicated home theatres and whole home audio installations.

Lyle Smith, president of Sound United at HARMAN, said: “With our newest additions, we’ve gone further by combining expanded room calibration capabilities with adaptable system designs to deliver enhanced audio quality and greater flexibility for people who take their sound seriously.”

Developed at Denon’s Shirakawa Audio Works in Japan, the models benefit from updated internal components and a 32-bit multi-channel DAC architecture.

Audyssey remains built-in for fast calibration with minimal setup, while Dirac Live upgrades support more advanced tuning as systems become more complex.

The AVR X2900H

With 95 watts per channel across seven channels, the AVR X2900H serves as a step up from entry-level models: support for immersive surround formats, advanced HDMI features and modern gaming standards make it a suitable upgrade for movies, games and music.

It positions Dirac Live Room Correction compatibility as a key advancement, giving users the option to unlock more advanced room tuning over time.

The AVC X3900H

Meanwhile, the Denon AVC X3900H equips professionally designed systems with 9.4 channels of amplification, 11.4 channels of processing and 105 watts per channel.

Four independent subwoofer outputs and expanded configuration options allow for more balanced bass performance in dedicated rooms.

The receiver supports Dirac Live Room Correction, Bass Control and Active Room Treatment (ART) as optional upgrades, giving custom integrators advanced tools to fine-tune system performance.

Audyssey is also included, ensuring homeowners and installers can choose the approach that best aligns with their workflow and listening preferences.

Scalable options

Across both models, IP-based Web UI setup and advanced HDMI diagnostics support efficient system setup and optimisation.

Planned as a future firmware update (additional details to be shared at a later date), they will also facilitate the option to use Denon Home 200, 400 and 600 speakers as wireless rear surrounds to accommodate rooms where running speaker wire is not practical.

The X-Series sits above Denon’s entry level S-Series, targeting users requiring higher channel counts and advanced room correction.
